The Philadelphia cheese balls they are some very tasty appetizers that you have probably seen or tasted at Burger King. These are tasty croquettes of cheese, with a soft and melting heart wrapped in a crunchy breading. Obviously they are delicious and I necessarily had to replicate them at home.
The recipe is simple and the only care is to use the cheese in blocks and not in a tray as it is firmer and lends itself better to the recipe. The result is fantastic, I don't even tell you at my house how long they lasted: the time to finish cooking them and they were all gone: P
How to make Philadelphia cheese balls
First divide the 2 cheese loaves each into 9 squares, then gently roll them in your hands, one at a time, to form balls.
Beat the eggs in a small bowl with a pinch of salt, then pass the balls twice (double breading) first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs.
Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the croquettes a few at a time, browning them evenly and draining them on kitchen paper as they are ready.
The Philadelphia cheese balls are ready, lightly salt them and serve them immediately.
