The fish and chips is a typical recipe from Great Britain. It is the union of a second dish and its side dish, or a savory one cod in batter (or a fish fillet with firm and tender meat) accompanied by a generous portion of chips, all fried and served with a pea puree and sauces. Obviously the best fish and chips you can try in your life you will find it in London, I also ate it during my trip to Scotland and previously also in Dublin and it was excellent, so, once home I decided to replicate.
There are various recipes for making the fish and chips which vary mainly for the type of batter to use, to beer, to water with or without egg etc.
With this recipe I had a good result, it seems to me a really good compromise to prepare this dish at home;)

How to make fish and chips
Start making the batter by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl.
Obtained a thick and homogeneous mixture, cover the bowl with cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Dab the cod fillets and pass them in the batter covering both sides.
Then fry them in hot oil and, when they are golden brown, lift them and let them dry on absorbent paper.
Peel and cut the potatoes into wedges, then fry them in hot oil.
Also transfer them on absorbent paper when they are golden and add salt.
The fish and chips is ready, serve it with some dips.
