The other day I was preparing some simple shortcrust pastry biscuits to accompany the tea and make me an afternoon cuddle, then in the course of work I decided to enrich the biscuits with cocoa and orange and make them double flavor. I obtained very fragrant and tasty pinwheel cookies that sweetened my day and now here is the recipe on the blog for you. How to make pinwheel cookies
Work the butter and sugar until they become a cream.
Add the egg and vanilla essence, then add the flour, baking powder.
Knead until you get a dough that you will put in the fridge to harden for 30 minutes.
Now take the dough and divide it into 2 equal parts, in one add the grated orange peel, in the other the bitter cocoa.
Roll out the two doughs to obtain 2 rectangles.
Overlap the 2 layers of biscuits and press lightly with a rolling pin to make them adhere and align the edges, cutting the residue with a smooth blade knife.
Roll everything up.
Slice the cylinder obtained thus obtaining pinwheels that you will place on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
Bake the orange and cocoa biscuits at 180 ° C and bake for 10 minutes.
Allow the biscuits to cool down by turning them before serving.
