The laurel liqueur, also said allorino, is the last alcohol I made at home. It is an excellent digestive, therefore perfect to be served on the table at the end of a meal after a hearty lunch or dinner with friends. Rather widespread in Puglia, especially in the Salento area, the laurel liqueur it is characterized by a bright green color and an intense but very pleasant taste. If you want to try it, this is my recipe!


How to make laurel liqueur

First wash the leaves well and dry them one by one.
Then put them in infusion with alcohol, seal the container with the lid or with cling film and let it rest in the dark for at least 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks, make a syrup by dissolving the sugar in the water and bringing it to a boil, then let it cool completely.

Filter the alcohol through a narrow mesh strainer.

When the syrup is cold, add the bay leaf infusion, mix and bottle.

Let the bottles rest, well corked, for at least 30 days.
After this time, the laurel liqueur will be ready to be consumed.
